We have a heart to reach people with the gospel and to build a genuine, gospel-centred community.

  • Worship God

  • Equip the Saints

Our Values

Relationship

We value building genuine gospel centred community, built on a foundation of love for God first, and love for one another. Jesus said in Mark 12:30-31 “You must love the Lord your God with all of your heart, all of your soul, all of your mind and all of your strength and love your neighbour as yourself.”

Empowered

We value living in the power of the Holy Spirit. The bible says “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit”. Walking in the Spirit means to live a life that depends on the Spirit’s power to grow in godliness, obey God’s commands and experience increasing closeness with God.

Discipleship

We value being disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. A disciple is someone who follows Jesus, learns from and lives by his teachings, is being changed and formed by the Him, and is deeply committed to fulfilling His mission to make disciples of others. Very simply, we are disciples who make disciples.

Evangelism

We value actively sharing the gospel, the good news about Jesus, in word and deed. It says in 2 Timothy 4:5 that followers of Christ are to “do the work of an evangelist.” We don’t see evangelism as the work of the few, but an active responsibility of all believers.

Engaged

We value using our unique gifts, talents and abilities to serve and build up the body. As it says in 1 Peter 4:10 “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.” The gifts we have been given are to be used for the benefit of others and to bring glory to God.

Missional

We value being on mission and actively fulfilling the Great Commission from our own backyard to the ends of the earth. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

What we believe

Redeem Church is affiliated with Acts Global Churches, a denomination within the Pentecostal tradition that began in Wales in the early 1900s. This global denomination upholds the early creeds of historic Christianity and aligns with Orthodox Christian doctrine.

    • The one true and living God who eternally exists in three persons in unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

    • The Divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scripture.

    • The virgin Birth, sinless life atoning death, triumphant Resurrection, ascension and continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Second Coming, and eternal Kingdom reign.

    • The justification and sanctification of believers through the finished work of Christ, their security as they remain in Him, and their future resurrection in an incorruptible body.

    • The original perfection of creation; the inherent corruptness of humanity through the Fall; the necessity of repentance and regeneration by grace and through faith in Christ alone, and the eternal separation from God of the finally unrepentant.

    • The gifts of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church and ministry to the world.

    • The baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers with supernatural signs, empowering the Church for its mission in the world.

    • Christ's leadership of the Church through the ascension ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, for the unity, maturity, and growth of the Church.

    • The Sacrament of Baptism by immersion, and of the Lord's Supper.

    • The privilege and responsibility of wise stewardship of all that God has given, including the practice of tithing to the local church.

    • We believe that the covenant of marriage is the union of a man and a woman who have voluntarily entered into a loving, committed, and exclusive relationship for as long as both live.

Our Senior Pastors

G’day! We’re Tim and Mel Ballantyne, Senior Pastors of Redeem Church. We have a heart to reach people with the gospel, see the kingdom expand, and build genuine and authentic gospel-centred community.

In early 2023, we felt a strong conviction from the Lord to plant a church in Bassendean, Western Australia. At the time, we had been serving for 10 years as the Lead Pastor’s of Dreambuilders Perth, a vibrant and growing church across 2 locations, and a church community we had been part of for 25 years. But we just couldn’t shake the sense that God was calling us to pioneer something new, so we submitted our conviction to our senior leaders and to the national leadership of our denomination who also agreed that this was the Lord’s leading. On September 15, 2024, we were released alongside a group of 20 beautiful people who shared our conviction to step out in faith and pioneer what is today, Redeem Church.

On March 24rd, 2025 we opened our doors to the community for the first time as Redeem Church. We are continually in awe of God and what he is building as he establishes his church right in the centre of the Town of Bassendean. Jesus has been faithfully building his church for over 2,000 years, and we are grateful to play a small part in this work. We are excited about all that God has planned for Redeem and we want to invite you to come and be part of it as we exist to worship God, equip the saints and reach the world!
